Heaven’s Bounty Pantry is making a real impact in our community; currently we are serving approximately 250 people a month or 3,000 people in a year. We receive some very limited government funding but by far the majority of our funding comes from individual donors and some generous organizations. Our cupboards are nearly empty and we need your help to fill them. Food donations are greatly needed and appreciated. Also, monetary donations would be helpful for when we need to place an order – which is happening more frequently.
We also thank our volunteers who work tirelessly to help others.

Donations of non-perishable food items and personal hygiene products (shampoo, soap, etc) can be dropped off during pantry hours (Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8:00 – 11:30 am), or call/email the pantry to make other arrangements. If you would like to make a monetary donation, make your check payable to “Heaven’s Bounty Pantry” and mail it to the church, attn. Food Pantry (455 Trumbauersville Rd, Quakertown, PA 18951). Clients must be residents of the Quakertown Community School District and bring photo ID/proof of residency when signing up for the first time. Clients are welcomed to visit once every four weeks and should arrive before 11:00 am in order to get done by 11:30.

The Quakertown Community School District is used as a guide for closings or delayed openings due to inclement weather. However, the safety of our volunteers and clients is our first concern and if the parking lot and walkways have not been cleared, the pantry may remain closed or delay opening. The delay will be posted on our home page and at the top of this page.

The official opening of the Heaven’s Bounty Food Pantry was September 9, 1997. The pantry was started by the late Gloria Evans, a parishioner at the First Church of the Brethren – Quakertown.
Experiencing her own financial hardships, she had become aware of food needs in her community, so she solicited the help of the church membership to open a pantry at the church to help meet the food needs of others. During the first month of its operation, the pantry served two to six families per week. Today the Pantry serves 80 – 100 families per month.
Whenever the Pantry experiences a need, the Lord provides what is needed to get through the rough times. This has been experienced time and time again.
The Pantry relies on many sources to keep its shelves stocked. Federal and State donations play a large role as do local business donations, local church donations and individual donations. Some os our local contributors include the North Penn Gun Club, Trumbauersville Lions Club, Great Swamp UCC Church in Spinnerstown, the Post Office food drive, and the Borough of Trumbauersville .

Presently there are 16 active volunteers who keep the pantry running smoothly; one volunteer has been a part of the Pantry since its beginning. The number of volunteer hours ranges from 280 to 350 hours per month. There is no paid staff. Volunteers serve our neighbors at the pantry on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and do food pickups throughout the week. Our volunteers also do all our required record-keeping and complete and submit the necessary forms for state and federal funding. In addition, they coordinate fund raisers and act as community liaisons. All volunteers attend training with the Bucks County Opportunity Council. A tired phrase, but SO TRUE: We could not do all this without them.
From its early years, the Pantry has been able to provide a number of holiday meals for families on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
The pantry is making a difference not only in the lives of
those it helps, but in the life of the community.
